Big Forg's Early Gilgamesh Raiding aka “It’s not about the size of your spikes, it’s how you use them.” - Orna patch 3.3
Hello and welcome, it’s your friendly neighbourhood amphibian. After the recent rework of Spiked Shield you no longer need an extremely min-maxed, high-end build with tons of ward to have a decent damage with the SS skill family. In this guide I’ll try to focus on the performance of SS1 in 3 different scenarios:
1. Entry-level Gilgamesh (around 100-120k ward)
2. Mid-game Gilgamesh (around 120-180k ward)
3. Endgame Gilgamesh (above 180k ward)
Keep in mind, this build is not built around pumping extremely huge numbers, it performs well in all raids, has really high survivability and not a lot of key pressing. The rotation is pretty much based on 1 skill and 1 temp buff.

There are different ways to run dungeons with Gilgamesh, following is the one I found the best for me. I'm currently using it for standard normal, hard, boss, hard boss, and also themed dungeons (some of them horde mode, others non-horde).
There are actually 4 versions of my build, where Weapon and Offhand change.
Speaking of the common elements:
I'm currently using Zwei-Fencer because of horde dungeons, it's also good for ward bonus.
Alternatives can be: Ranger (HP and attack bonus, Arrowstorm 2 for horde), Cataphract (extra HP and ward regen)
I'm using the Fey Chimera because of Berserk 1 and it also deals decent damage to enemies.
2x of your best Band of Gods for orns, gold and exp
Lost Helmet and Court Jester's Outfit for orns and gold bonuses.
Arisen Avalon Leggings because they have both attack and ward.
Everything Godforged or as highly levelled as you can to have the max orns/gold bonus possible.
Adornments used in the gear are Jewel of Creation and Saturn Eyes, because of HP/Mana, Attack and Ward.
You may also try to use some broken or superior Ashen Pinion for ward and 4% crit. They have negative attack btw.
Amity that gives you orns bonus or accessory effectiveness. Any good amity that helps you clear your dungeons is fine too.
